See No Evil

black snake at Brookside Gardens
Black snake suns on log
Bead black eyes stare from raised head
Forked tongue scents spring air
I watch as people stroll past
Unaware, they have no fear

no reason to fear
when you dont see or understand
what lies in wait

As long as it's not a copperhead, anyway. (grin)

Unaware they have no fear.. That is so true of many things in life.

Fear is a person's best friend, I have heard. If there are snakes about, I don't doubt it!

Nice. Like fate hanging over our heads.

that old snake... too often we're unaware... in more ways than one

This is more than just a living reptile to me..it makes me think of human predators...great job

You are so right. If we are unaware, fear is not part of the paradigm. Sometimes this protects us, sometimes creates greater risk. Such a dichotomous truth!

Whoa, those strolling people would get a start if they looked to the side! This could be an Ode to the Oblivious! Hee hee.

Very nice!
It's the snakes (both animal and human) that you DON'T see, that you have to worry about...
