Magical sister with hair of jet
bring down the rain
Let it wash away ignorance and fear
Bring the thunder
to drown out those
who speak with hate
Send out your familiar
to pluck the eyes of those
who refuse to see truth
Let the storms come
and come
and come
until artiface and duplicity
intolerance and hypocrisy
are rinsed away
and with the petrichor
beauty shines through.

This is beautiful. We need more people to think this way don't we?
i should hope sucha storm might come...maybe during a presidential debate...smiles.
Calling out artifice in people's words and actions is most important. Hate and ignorance, I believe, are synonymous. Artifice is intentional.
Great worded piece that parallels my feelings.
Ah yes, the bitter-sweet smell of new rainfall.
I need to go and Google 'petrichor'... I'm all for rinsing away artifice, duplicity, intolerance and hypocracy, though. ♥
I love the message here, Mouse...

Very interesting interpretation of the prompt ...I just always wonder whose truth we talk about.
this is beautiful.
Beautiful. I don't think enough water exists to wash it all away, unfortunately.
delightful.

A lovely message!
Loved this poem and it's good to see the very scientific term "petrichor" used to such great effect here!
