Nursery Rhyme Royal

When Goldilocks awoke she saw the bear
and started to get up to run away
but saw upon Bear's face such raw despair

"I promise not to bite you if you'll stay.
I've never had a friend to come and play."

So Goldie and the Bear stayed up all night
with movies, popcorn, pizza til the light.

BRILLIANT! A fun and entertaining way of practising the structure.

Choc full of personality
the imagery is great...the pic sets the scene.

I'm glad someone dares to be unserious around here..I loved this way to use a solemn narrative form to retell a child's tale and charm adults.

@hedgewitch: You can always count on me to be unserious! Especially when something so obviously calls out for seriousness!

For some reason I find that bear in the picture incredibly creepy.

lol- Thanks for the chuckle... much needed with such a 'serious' form!

I loved this. So creative, so playful, just the right length - correct in form and meter. It's entertaining, accurate, and extremely creative.
Lovely! Thanks for writing, linking, and being part of the forum today.

Oh, I love it! And I note that it's a perfect example of the form, too, :)

It's nice to put a nice 'lite' on the 'bear' thingy. Especially after the recent bear maulings that have been reported up in Alaska.
I didn't know you could be so unserious in such serious matters. "...are you serious"?

Hee hee hee! Keep waiting for somebody to jump up and say "Hey! This is poetry, dammit! There's no time for silliness! This is serious business here!"
