Overexposure

source

I feel so exposed,
so vulnerable
These clothes, this skin
don’t protect me.
Where is my armor,
my home?
I want to hide. Instead,
I clash with everything around me;
I can’t seem to stay still;
I make too much noise!
The predators will surely find me,
and I, no tougher than a worm,
will yield to their teeth

Oh, poor turtle! Don't worry, I'll build you a turtle house to hide in!

I love what you did with the challenge, LM, and I love that illustration, too!

PS--psssst...keep your eyes to the sky and watch out for Ella! ;-)

Awful to find oneself a turtle with no shell and out of one's element!

You really nailed the feeling of exposure and vulnerability here, LM--and the fear. The turtle metaphor works perfectly.

Am feeling the fear and vulnerability. My turtle & tortoise are so trusting, they lounge in the open with heads curled out and around like a cat. I wish that feeling of peace and trust for you as your turtle self. I too adore the image you chose.

It's the flip side of turtle you chose- turtle vulnerable without her home and I chose turtle strong with it. Nicely done.

Hurry and hide! Fireblossom is here to protect you, lol~

I love how vulnerable you are!
I love turtles....
I saw one the size of a half dollar in my yard this week. I save them on occasion, when we have a lot of rain. I move them out of high water ;D and saved one from my beagle rooting it with his nose~

Well Done!

A turtle would feel vulnerable. Good job capturing that voice!

Perfect turtle here, Ms Mouse, and I'm glad you've been warned about Ella. An owl might take quite an interest in a turtle without its shell.

A turtle with out its shell, how often we crawl exposed and vulnerable. Great piece!

Makes me want to provide you with a suit of armour straight away! LOL

How scary it must be to find yourself a turtle with no shell.
