Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. Leonard Cohen

Thought For the Day, Week, Month...

“Grow that dream you had at five years old

the first time a pencil callused your kindergarten fingers

You ran all the way home screaming

“Look Mom! I’m a writer! My hand is changing shape to

prove that I’m a writer”.

Grow that,

in every crack of pavement

the soles of your feet can find.

— “Alaska Says Sun” —Andrea Gibson

mmm....while probably parallel to this, i think it is important to remember when we first felt like a writer and make sure we have not polished beyond that so much we lose the magic people first fell in love with...

I'm trying hard not to abuse it. (grin)
