The title of your Magpie has me humming 'Eleanor Rigby.' Nice writing.

So many lonely people in this world indeed. They are sometimes most visible at the holidays. Sad.

Dear Lolamouse: "Ah-ha" moment of realization! Wonderful haiku! Strikes to the core! Chiccoreal

Well-encapsulated sentiment in those three lines, perfect for this Magpie!
Did I say I like it very much?

Lyn said...

That is really scary..and unfortunately, true..well done!

Lolamouse ... I am so glad that you have joined Real Toads. Welcome! This poetry prompt is the first that I have ever seen where every poem written hits the nail on the head. Just as yours does. You captivate the essence of the painting.

Great. Now I have the Beatles stuck in my head. Meanie!

This is a gem! The Haiku form is difficult to maintain focus throughout, but you nailed this one. Well done, and I will look forward to seeing more of your "food for thought."

Wow! I love this. The poem is perfect for the image.
Now I'm going to be singing the song to myself for the rest of my day. Eleanor Rigby...

The Beatles had a phrase for just about everything, Ned's Pa?

I love simple ideas expressed so profoundly. And yes, I'm singing along with "Eleanor Rigby" as well!
