“When I get up in the morning I brush my teeth and sharpen my tongue.”
Dorothy Parker

Dorothy Parker showed humor and wit
at the Algonquin Round Table
Many tried to match her sarcastic barbs
None of them ever was able.

I love Dorothy Parker, and your poem is spot on. True to form as well,,,

I'm still working on mine. It's comprised entirely of three-syllable earth-centered words, or...

...terra dactyls.

Thanks, I'm here all week.

Shay, ha ha ha. I was asking similar questions!

Lola, I am a huge Dorothy Parker fan, so this was perfect. Congrats on tackling the form and winning! AMy

I don't think I know of her... I looked her up and it said "American poet ... critic and satirist, best known for her wit, wisecracks and eye for 20th century urban foibles. Sounds like a blend of Mama Zen & Fireblossom ;)

Do you have a favorite poem (or book) of hers?

Love the quote and the way you have showcased the lady in your lines. She was a hoot, probably not when you were her victim.

Oh, wonderful, Ms Mouse. Dorothy Parker was my idol. What a great role model, speaking her mind no matter who minded.

Yay! I'm a great Dorothy Parker fan. She has some fabulous quotes. One of my favs is, "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy." :o)

I like the humorous aspect of the double dactyl, and you brought out this lady's personality very well.
