Little Celebrations

photo of leaf by

The New Year came creeping in
like the dog into our  bed
I smiled and moved over to make room
No fanfare needed
Every day
little celebrations

This is very nice. Great wording. I enjoyed reading it. And it is so much better when the new year comes creeping in like a dog to your bed than a pouncing cat :-)

Happy New Year!

Hey that's beautiful, no fanfare needed. Have a great new year!

The dog would be dispatched to the back verandah. Perhaps I will find the New Year there too?

yep each day is a new day...even though it's a new year, I'm still only one day older than yesterday!

I like this way of looking at the year very much. I will strive to find something little to celebrate every day. Thank you.

I agree. A fanfare in bed would be a little decadent perhaps. Still, the verse deserves a fanfare!
A great New Year to you and yours.

The new year crept into our house while I too was sleeping.

Wishing you a wonderful 2012 filled with everything you could wish for.

This piece has a most pet loving feel to it. Every day is a good new year to a dog that says good morning in this way.

I can just see that head and one paw up on the edge and that pleading look.

"All right. Come on, then..."

Excellent.
