Practicing with her reflection
in the bedroom mirror
What if the lips don't align or the
head tilt is incorrect?
She studies the angles, features, dimensions
Such easy nonchalance takes much rehearsal
A flip of chestnut hair
a carefree laugh
and then
hold the gaze just long enough to let him
know
She leans in with lips
slightly parted
slightly quivering
Crashes into reality and
herself
in the hard, cold glass.

love your imaginations,well done.
flirting with a mirror, love it
This is such a great poem and I love the kiss in the mirror. My entry this week is http://gatelesspassage.com/2011/08/29/the-one-and-only-kiss/
This is a very clever take on the prompt. I'm impressed.
LOL! Everybody's been there.
Kissing is best practiced with a real person.
Beautiful! Love it!
If anybody says they've never done this, I'm calling BS! (except me maybe)
Really good...
If you really tried to do that, then your reflection would unhinge its jaw and devour your entire head. That's just simple science.
This was touching and sad to me, but beautiful. Thanks, twinkly
