Return To Sender

from The Mag 179

...And when the landfills could hold no more,
Not one more old tire or rusted toilet,
The people sent their garbage to the sky
Rockets loaded with tons of trash
Launched into the air
High above the clouds that pillowed
Polluted cities
The people could not see the space flotsam
So they forgot all about it
Until it was time to send up more
And more
And more
Soon, the sky could hold
Discarded junk
Rained down
From the heavens

That is a scary idea the thought that humans might not just destroy earth but actually branch out has always scared me! Even though I get excited to learn about new planets/the universe I cannot but worry about the consequence of spreading our territory. Very clever! I love how you combined prompts it worked brilliantly.

This is fabulous Lola! We can always rely on you for a unique entry!

I'd hate to be rained upon with the junk from my son's room alone! lol

This is a great reminder - and a wonderfully creative one - that everything we use has to be disposed of somewhere...it doesn't just disappear into thin air. Kim @ Pouring Down Like Rain
