The crows broadcast my entrance at her gate
There is no sneaking up upon this one
Despite being unannounced, she says, “You’re late”
Her eyes are glowing like the setting sun.
We walk past gardens colorful with blooms
Jasmine flowers tiptoe toward her door
The voice of EmmyLou soon fills the rooms
A “Danny’s” coffee mug sits on the floor.
Old Emily and Poe rest on the shelves
With lace and leather, moonlight, gypsy bells
The folks within this place can be themselves
The dog knows all the secrets, never tells.
The one who lives here tends a wild flame
Her brilliance burns too hot to ever tame.

Oh wow! This is perfect! I love it. And you ARE late lol. I love that song, too.
Wow, you captured so many wonderful connections to Shay! Well done~
It was fun, wasn't it! ;d
This could be none other than the incomparable Fireblossom......love how you captured the Danny's mug, the Poe and Emily, EmmyLou and gypsy bells. And her eyes glowing like the setting sun.......great job!
I guessed it at "The Crows" :)
Such an excellent description of one we love so well.. and then you threw in a sonnet, well, just because you can...
Loved it!
PS. Love the mousies at their writing desk.
None other than the lovely flame Fireblossom...I too love the writing mice..so cute.
This is the first one I knew! and I enjoy your sonnet too, how it takes me to a richly populated place.
Love the mousies at their writing desk too.
Enchanting lines.
Oh, nicely done. Does sound Dickensish!
Well, of course, you mentioned EmmyLou, so it can only be our Shay.
K
should be a great place to visit
I love, love, love your first three lines! And also these:
"With lace and leather, moonlight, gypsy bells"
"The dog knows all the secrets, never tells"
I also like your use of "tend" at the end, a nice play on words with growing "jasmine" above.
You definitely got the spirit of Stevie Nicks.
The first line is a brilliant.
