Mabel's mother has always said
"No veggies, no pie, and to bed!"
But Mabel just balks like a mule
and finds dozens of ways 'round the rule
Ever since she was quite young
Not a vegetable slips past her tongue
Anything green is rejected
Her vitamin intake neglected
No carrots, no peas, and no cuke
If forced, it will make Mabel puke
It's even a battle of wills
Over her daily vitamin pills
Now her mother has just had enough
Says to Mabel "I'm sick of this stuff!"
Gives her veggies and says, "I can't bear it!"
"Here's your choice--you can eat it or wear it!"

I was Mabel.
ha. wish my mom would have given up on lima beans...just saying...
Delightful! Loved the ending.
Oh heavens no I wouldn't want to wear it either! So funny!
Mouse, this is delightful!
As someone who was caught smuggling Brussell's Sprouts away from the table, stuffed down my socks, I can relate!
This gave me a smile this morning. Eat it or wear it....a tough choice. LOL.
That's me. I'd rather wear it than eat it. Yuck.
Kids (and others) can be so stubborn when the battle is over eating vegtables. I fought it with my kids, that's for sure. It seems like they always win...
Good job writing for the prompt.
I'd have a cherry coat for every day! Great fun write!
This was funny thanks for the laff and the funny poem! ♥
