When ink stained twilight descends
I search for you, my divine succubus
Black lace angel
Guardian of my secrets
Wrap me tight in your raven feathers
that I wear the veins in your wings
like those of my own skin
We will fly later
Now is the time
for earthbound delights
The night is dying
and the moon fades in the sky
like milk into morning coffee
Before you leave
Please lay a feather
silken and jet
upon my pillow
and I promise to dream

Wow, wow and double wow! (or is that triple?)
there were a couple of other great images in this poem, but THIS one just knocked my socks off!
Divine succubus now there is an image. Wonderful word choices, sinning with earthbound delights, hopefully dreaming will let all be forgiven..ha
I like the conspiratorial tone of this, just you and the angel. An enjoyable read.
ha after reading that i might dream of heaven as well...smOKING!
This very tautly told. I liked the lines:
The night is dying
and the moon fades in the sky
like milk into morning coffee
very nice poem, I love it!
The last five lines linger in the memory.
Love feather pillows. Nice
omG, Lolamouse! Wowwwwwwww. I ADORE this. In fact, I am taking out my trusty rubber stamp and stamping "wish I had written this!" on it. I was gonna cite lines like (the cofee, the black lace), but I love it all. Desperately. In fact, I just bookmarked it.
Thank you so much nene and FB!

Very nice! I'm craving coffee now...
A very tasty piece, LM. Really like some of your images here--like ink-stained twilight, and the 'we will fly later but now...' line has a simple and plaintive quality of love and affinity on the edge.Personally, at the conclusion, I'd rather she left a chocolate on the pillow, but then, I'm old. ;-)
Really enjoyed that. Thanks!
A beautiful write!
Ahh!! Promise to dream of heaven on the wings of light... like the imagery... Its a beautiful verse...
