Don't bring me roses when I'm dead
Or jewels to wear upon my hand
What good to me in Earthen bed?
Don't bring me roses when I'm dead
Plant flowers with me now instead
Find seashell treasures in the sand
Don't bring me roses when I'm dead
Or jewels to wear upon my hand

Okay. God, pick-eeeeeeee. :-P
Cool. Not everyone wants the traditional or sentimental touch after they've gone. Personally, I'd much rather have wind chimes tied to a nearby tree. That should be very annoying.....lol
i like the call to be with me now...dont wait til i am dead to remember me...
My late husband was so thrilled when his son and grand-daughter planted a peach tree in their yard on his behalf. He loved the thought of that tree blooming year after year after his death. I so loved this one!
Yes, plant flowers now...
Very nice...what would it do if one is dead ~ plant flowers and find seashore treasures ~
Love it! Excellent take on this image.
Flowers now, indeed.
Beautiful image and wonderful words. I want my roses while I can still bury my nose in their soft petal and breathe in the fragrance
love this, and the repetition just might get someone's attention...
When I walk by Mamasita's picture sitting on my mantle I blow kisses at her. At least her representation because her ashes still float free over the Gulf of Mexico.
Very eloquent. We aren't Egyptians, after all. Put me in a paper sack and let me work my way back into the ground, thank you.
I want flowers too - of the planted variety.
Anna :o]
Throw confetti (even though I know it is not environmentally correct) after I'm gone, no roses. This is a lovely Magpie.
Very nice. Plant the flowers now. In a weird way, this reminds me of Christina Rossetti ("when I am dead, my darling, sing no sad songs for me" or something like that). Lovely.
I love this! And I love the rhyme.
It sounds like there's still hope for her!
(And I like that, too!)
