Purr

Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, soft is your fur
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, stroke it, you purr
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, eyes are like jewels
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, break all my rules
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, dangerous claws
Oh what you do with your Pussy Cat paws!
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, sandpaper kisses
Is there no place that your little tongue misses?
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, teeth that can bite
Don't think you will, but then maybe you might
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, too quick to hiss
A scratch by your ear and it's Pussy Cat bliss
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, it's all been said
Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat warm in my bed.

Awww, makes me miss the kitty we had in our last place. So warm and purring while curled up on my chest. Beautiful!

Oh yes. Love your poem. A person who'd never had a cat couldn't have written this.
I love my dog but I miss having cats. Lindy does her best to try to purr, which is very sweet, so I think she was raised with a cat, and last night she flumped down on the floor beside me and accidentally scratched my ankle, so I guess she's the next best thing to a cat, LOL.

Yep, that says it all! More fame for Stripey!

Beautifully child-like in its use of repetition, this poem almost mimics the rhythm of the cat --- subtle yet with purpose. A fine write!!!

A study in anthropomorphism, methinks--and indeed, I know a lot of kitties who fit the bill, of all persuasions. I love the repetition and the way it sets up each little 'punch line' jab. Got me purring, LM.

Delightful! You've certainly described all three of my cats.

This would be so lovely in a child's book. Just beautiful! You obviously know cats. You know, Stripey's always fancied himself the King of our house - if he reads this, it will be for sure and for certain! :)

A mouse does verse for a cat and it is so much fun!!

Oh yeah! Those of some of the things that make cats the BEST pets! I love all four of ours. Great poem Lola!

Oh this fits our princess Sasha so well. One moment purring and the next you have blood dripping as she has decided that she no longer wants to be touched.
And breaking rules, absolutely. There have been kitty prints on the bench when she knows she isnt allowed

How delightfully written in true verse style. I love the sandpaper kisses.

Cats and women are much the same. Easy to describe, difficult to define, nearly impossible to understand.

Uh-huh. Perfectly describes a feline!

I feel like purring after reading this poem! (But my dogs would be confused.)

ha! I love this as this face looks so like my kitty, Wesley. He is a sweet boy and we pretend he's tame, but we know there's a tiger lurking inside of him ;)
