One flap of a butterfly's wings
One can of soup
What is too small
to make a difference?
What if
Warhol had painted Scott Towels instead?
The grocery had been out of tomato
but had plenty of vegetable?
A rutabaga caught his eye?
Could tampons be
Pop Art?
What if
a can of tomato soup
had been donated to a soup kitchen?
What is the difference
between art
and a hungry child
getting a meal?

oh...that last question snapped me to attention...what is art in the face of hunger?
Whoa! Good point! It's what's in the tin that's important...:)
Nothing is too small to make a difference ... donate to your local food banks!!!!
Nice Mag!
The midpoem revelation is pow!erful and brings everything together wonderfully. This was great!
Good thinking, blogpal! ♥
Thoughtful last stanza...
love it :)
Too true! I'm not sure about the tampons becoming art but I know they make for great bath toys - as I discovered one evening when I returned to check on the boys' nightly dip! I had no idea a 5-year-old could reach up that high.....!
Fun, thoughtful, love-the-politicized finish, which brings Warhol's pointlessness (for me, anyway) home - and the fact that people need to get their heads straight on what's important, not what's flashy.
i love this.
Love that final question--so powerful. Sad that we need to be reminded. Now filling a bag for the local food pantry...
Thank you.
