If a Teardrop

This week at Friday Poetically, we were challenged by Brian to compose a poem from a list of words used in Shel Silverstein's poem One Inch Tall.

If a teardrop were a balloon
Carried to school, loved, a blue friend
Whispered to before you go to sleep tonight
Soon...magic!
From blue to green, yellow, sunny
Only a dream?
Go try!

I love Shel Silverstein. I have all of his books - many from way back when. The Giving Tree I have had since I was five. Still as magical today as it was then.

Great piece, btw. As always.

Rabbit-Thank you so much! Shel Silverstein is one of my favs as well. I always give kids one of his poetry books as a gift to get them hooked on poetry. I consider it a personal mission!

WOW! I love this. I made read it to my girls. "loved by a blue friend" and the last line, "go try!" I think I will.

Thanks for this poem.

What a fun idea! I liked your poem's playfulness and think Shel would too. :)
