Worlds divide
With each decision we make
Splintering fractals
With each turn of the cylinder
Left or right
The kaleidoscope beads shift
Morphing one pattern
Into another
A few degrees clockwise
There's a bit more red
And you're a suburban mom with three kids
A few degrees counter
And some blue appears
You're a dancer struggling with an eating disorder
Make a complete circle
And now
You see more green
You're the top telemarketer for credit card insurance
And you still live with your mom
And a collection of comic books and porn
When you see one pattern
Where are the others?
When a choice is made
Are the others gone?
Or are they just waiting elsewhere?

So true! It is all here, all the time. Very interesting!
I think it's all waiting..I love the way the tone shifts in this..it just plunges into a seperate reality!

A kaleidoscope life, no less... Clever!
I like your quantum poem, Mouse. And if you aren't watching - what happens then?
Clever metaphor.
Do they still make those Kaleidoscope tube? Those were awesome. I used to stare into them when I was a kid, wondering how they worked.
choices choices...excellent post!
Oh excellent! You had me at fractals!
You have made a very effective mataphor out of the prompt. Inventive and interesting.

You are very good...
Stellar piece. It speaks to life and choices in an intriguing manner.
Oh!! It started off and became intense..
Very realistic n meaningful.. :)
Often we make choices and leave the others- but would die before admitting to the fact!
Then again, I want the newer choices to strike me, so I move over the earlier set of choices..
