Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. Leonard Cohen

Dirty Blues

Why buy the cow
Come get the milk for free
Let's skip the seduction
And get straight to the deed
I'm ready and I'm willing
And I know what you need
So forget about her
And take a ride with me.

Games are for children
I don't wanna play
I saw you and I want you
Ain't no shades of gray
What we're doin' is wrong
Don't try to pretend
If you believe in God
Start making amends.

Why buy the loaf
Come get the slices for free
My mama always told me
That's no way to be
But mama's not around
And I don't plan to tease
So come over to me baby
Bring me to my knees.

Babble babble brrrr
I think I knew her
I used to eat loaf by the slice
had it that way
once or twice

When she was around
I'd eat bread by the pound
wometimes i'd tear off the rapping
surprise her while she was napping

but I like homemade bread
slowly and gently caressing
the doe to knead
and oh, the waft when baking
would bring me to my knees

Did I tell you I love bread blues?

I like the point of view here. It's unusual fora woman to talk like this in a poem. And I really envy your rhyming ability.

Oh.
My.
God.
This poem knocked me out of my seat. It's so bold and that's what makes it so incredible. Not only that, but you managed to rhyme without making it sound sing-song. Wonderful job! Love it.
