Sweet Heat

Painted Faerie courtesy of L. Diane Wolfe

Tender words make me blush
like a ripe, rosy peach
You kiss me
with your maple tongue
and the sugar rises
You coax me
gently toward the flame
then watch me burn
sweeter for the heat
