The Queen of Hearts
has baked some tarts
but they had MSG
now Alice has a migraine
and can't hold down her tea.
Her head feels like a blimp now
her legs are made of lead
There's pounding in her ears and
Alice wants to go to bed!
The caterpillar's smoking
is making Alice queasy
If pain vanished like Cheshire Cats
then life would be so easy!
One potion makes her larger
One potion makes her small
but Alice knows the awful truth-
There is no cure at all.

WHERE did you get that picture? I love it. I have never had a migraine, but I understand they're ghastly. Lolamouse, queen of versified gothic medicine! ;-)
I was literally giggling by the end of the first stanza. This is so jaunty and wickedly iconoclastic. AND doesn't miss a beat. Just so good.
Oh, poor, Alice, I so agree. But this poem is a cure for everything else. I'm laughing all the way down the rabbit hole. And printing it flush-right is just right! I love it.

Oh poor Alice...love your take on the prompt! The queen and her MSG..
As a migraine sufferer, they suck so bad. MSG is in so much food under "natural flavoring" and such so it's no wonder so many people get them. Sleep and good drugs are about the only thing that helps.
Whimsical and very nice! What the heck was that caterpillar smoking...
Ain't that the truth!
haha humorously tragic...and a very bad day for alice...
I am really glad I don't suffer migraines.
Fabulous poem as always. I love it
A very cogent un-fairy-tale. Migraines from all the goings on in Wonderland clearly painted, and enough to make you want to crawl back through the looking glass.
I love this one!!
Oooo..... I've only ever had a couple of those, but that's exactly how they felt.
I LOVE this! So witty and clever!
Excellent. Sharp and biting with a devilish wink and amazing that it has truth in it, too.
I really enjoyed this...so creative and fun~
Humour with depth and a cutting seriousness: I like it a lot.
