Trespass

I finally got you out of my life
Now stop trespassing in my mind!
You trample through my thoughts
like some pesky kid
who cuts through the neighbor's yard
back and forth from school every day
No matter how many times
I chase you away
You always come back
and always with
that stupid smirk!

oh yes, that 'smirk'. it's used in political debates as a defensive facial mannerism when unable to defend one's position; or in relationships, etc. one must not react to a 'smirk because that is it's intention.

It is so frustrating to think you have let go of pesky thought to only have them trespass again.
