Time

watercolor by Micael Chadwick

Time melts like
Watercolors in a painting
Easing into itself, indistinct
Numinous memories drift
Tides toward the shore
You and I

submitted for Imaginary Garden With Real Toads, Out of Standard With Izy, Climate Free Friday
and for David's and my 20 year anniversary on April 25

This is very clever any way you read it, but more than that, a beautiful celebration of time spent with the one you love.

Absolutely delightful, Ms Mouse. I've never spent that long with anyone, not even a blood relative, but it is a number that almost seems attainable, unlike the 40th and 45th and 50th ones happening in my circle these days, making me feel bad.
So, I will think of you: If I live long enough, and if my poor beleaguered husband puts up with me long enough, 20 years sounds possible.
Congratulations on accomplishing something I've never managed to do. All nonsense aside, I'm very happy for both of you.

Ah, our anniversaries are within a week of each other! Congrats on the big 20! Lex and I are moving soon, so we decided that the traditional 15th anniversary gift is... cardboard boxes!

Also, I had to look up "numinous," because I thought you meant "numerous," but your word gave the poem extra depth and mystery. The Spirit alive in any relationship leads to long-lasting love... Blessings on you both, Amy

not sure if you meant the words to sprawl across the page as they do (as blogger is such a pain to work with so often) but it really works!
