Valencia, Two Children on the Beach by Joaquin Sorolla |
Clouds shift and the sky unveils
a golden warmth; we rush outside
Dresses flapping, wind in pale sails
Beach ball bellies bob in tide
Sun rays bounce off minnow scales
Sapphire sparkles ever wide.

Sorolla would have loved this, Ms Mouse. I've seen the beach at Valencia, and it is fabulous. Unfortunately, we were there in winter, but that meant we had it all to ourselves!

Love your pic and your expressed depiction ...Sun rays bounce off minnow scales/Sappphire sparkles ever wide.., to the nascence of a sunny spring day.
Lovely, mi amiga
Question: Do you know why my recent two new posts won't take or show on the front page where all the blogs are shown when someone has written something new? After I write something I press publish and it says it's been published but it won't show in Blogger front pg.
ayuda! Need help!
Beachball belly? LOL
Beautiful poem & image! Now bring on summer!
Everything about this is beautiful - the colours and movement all brought alive again in your words.
Delightful .. as delightful as watching children frolic on a beach. Love the idea of beach ball bellies.
This is wonderful, LM--warm, full of sunlight and sea, sparkling imagery, everything that is in a Sorolla painting, in short. You also really capture the feel of excitement one has as a child with the whole day at the beach ahead of you. Really a neat one--so glad you played.
Love the unfolding of the scene and it becomes...
"Sapphire sparkles ever wide."
Infinite. Superb!
