You gave a five petaled bloom to me
kissed and tucked behind my ear
You said that you must set me free
but your intent was very clear
You did not wish to be here

Yeah, amazing how nobly someone can "set you free" when it's them that wants to be.
Tight write!
oy that last bit leaves a sour feel doesnt it...
Ouch...sometimes it's harder when they're sweet about it. Nicely captured.
Don't even have to pull the petals to get at the truth in this one. Tight and well-constructed little piece, LM.
Ouch! Relationships can be hell! This one stings.
One can only set oneself free. Free spirits can coincide living in the same wondrous space linked by love
love your interpretation! this flower blossom was actually given to me by my daughter you can read my poem about it here: http://www.shinethedivinecreativityisaspiritualpractice.com/2011/05/fragrance-of-love-exchanged.html
I hate those messages that love is over...you handled it well with this poem.
I stopped by earlier, I think? Anyway...I love your poetic interpretation of this photo.
Lovely post, sadly when theyre set free. Just let em go :)
I've never been dumped that nicely. It was usually accompanied by random things being thrown at my head.
Nice one! I'm sure we've all been there...
