Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. Leonard Cohen

oozed anger
out of every pore
Trapped everyone
in your path
of caustic destruction
But time
even the whitest flame
Anger hardens
fossilizes amberlike
polish your distortions
hoard your resentments
like precious stones
string them
on a necklace of self-righteousness
so heavy
can't even

Wow! This is telling it like it is in an uncompromising way. Very powerful words, and amazing imagery.

Like my pal Johnny Masuda sez: Being angry is like drinking poison and waiting for the other guy to die.

Beautifully written, thanks

oh dang...really well done...and we do that for sure...when we cling to anger...the polishing them up and wearing them about all the time choking us...yeah really well done...

Who is 'you'?

That necklace will eventually choke
any verve from life.

Nice use of metaphor of the necklace of self righteousness ~ I can feel your anger coming out of every pore ~

Some people wear their anger like a suit of plate armor. Some carry it like a sign.

I try to carry mine like a glove. I can fold it up and put it away until I need it.
