You Are Stronger Than You Know

Toril & Tully Collaboration "Beety Babies" 24 x 36
You are stronger than you know
The rain may drench you to the core,
the winter wind may whisper
that you are not worthy,
the snow and ice may envelope your heart
You are stronger than you know
Beneath your battered form,
your roots grow deep
Reaching for nourishment,
Sustaining you in the drought,
Anchoring you in the flood
so that when the sun shines
you may lean into it and grow
You are stronger than you know.

This is empowering and encouraging! Who doesn't need to hear words like these from time to time?

"You are stronger than you know." Could be a healing mantra

Almost a mother speaking to her children, mother nature speaking to her seedlings--teling them that the scars won't show, once they grow. "You are stronger than you know." I'm shaking from the word "battering." Whoosh!

Love the affirmation in this piece. It lifts my spirit by repeating "you're stronger than you know."

certainly words that are inspiring and needed to be read and heard as a mantra to so many this torturous winter

The repeating line becomes a mantra to underscore the whole. I really like this poem.

This is such an encouraging and beautiful poem. I love the repetition as it is something that we all need to repeat to ourselves in affirmation over and over again to counteract the negative self-talk and battering we take from the world. Lovely, absolutely lovely.

I think getting that strength is what it's all about.. and maybe even more important: understand it.
