All around us the world is burning
I see our reflection in the flames
You bend to kiss the back of my neck
I melt from the warmth of your kiss
The warmth of your kiss brings life back
Burning with passion I rise
from the flames, like a Phoenix
My neck throbs with new blood
With new blood I feed the seed
that brings life back from the ashes
Passion rises as a new sapling stretches
as a Phoenix takes flight
A Phoenix takes flight from the flames
Feeding from the seed of destruction
The ashes lie scattered around our feet
Stretching for miles and miles all around
All around us the world is burning
I see our reflection in the flames
You bend to kiss the back of my neck
We burn on and on.

Such a clever use of word repetition - not the easiest of things to create but you do it wonderfully here!
I love the pantoum approach you have taken to this piece. The repetition produces a cyclic effect, very much in keeping with the way love and loss, happiness and pain are constantly recurring experiences throughout our lives.
Good EVE-en-ing!
Ha ha, Fireblossom. Well, there is that spot just so… Yes, it CAN make all the difference :)
I love this form and it is so effective with this theme-phew, a lot of heat in this one~
