Love can be dangerous
Cross the wrong street-
love can be deadly
Doesn't matter how we die
Disease, murder, brainwashing, hopelessness
We all end up in the same pile of bodies
Buried by gloved hands and masked faces
Heads shaking
Thinking "not me"
until it is
Hatred is a virus
as much as HIV
It spreads by fear
Grows stronger through ignorance
And the cure still seems miles
Away
Meanwhile
We die for love
Destined for Heaven's ghetto.

A complex between love and hate, a virus, yes, as you say.
what a take.. it does feel like the complex life Keith ahring had!!
eloquently and sympathically written
A compelling and impressive post.
I've lost nine friends to this disease ... Years ago, and it is still so hard to think of them, how they died.
You saw far more than I.
Complex sad but beautiful creation.
It does seem love is our answer!
That virus image is very effectively crafted,
Have a nice Sunday
Much love...
Heaven's Ghetto or Hell's, is the question asked by the image, I reckon. :-)
Nothing's more deadly as the road where love and hate crosses.. much to think about in your words
Things do need straightening out. For our own and each other's sake. A puzzle.
Thanks so much, I enjoyed this again, here in the garden!
Kill us all. The rocks and stones themselves will step up and sing.
Such an excellent metaphor, LM and so relevant to this week, month, time. The image of the undertaker: (Buried by gloved hands and masked faces) reminds me so starkly of the images seen from the Ebola ravaged countries of Central Africa. Terrifying.
We are all destined for the same fate. How easy it is to pretend that is not so. Your piece offered me a chance to reconsider that fact.
First stanza is so powerful...yes until it is..it is never us!
Those who die for love...........................will go to heaven!
"We all end up in the same pile of bodies"
How long will it take before those who are filled with anger, with hatred, with prejudices realize that we are all the same inside. That we all want the same things; to live, to love,to grow old, to be happy. Very poignant piece.
reminds me of that Laurie Anderson line, Language is a Virus. All of us bones... ~
yes love is dangerous

but only hate destroys

cross the street with caution..
Love and Hate mixing is a bit like Matter and Ant-matter.
Love your take on the prompt ~ Eddie
