Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. Leonard Cohen

Penny Royalty

She drowns under
the weight of mistakes,
consequences

Whispers a prayer to Selene,
Mover of tides
Keeper of rhythms

Prostrates herself
before her Queen
She knew the pain of lovers

She prays
to awaken
from nightmarish dreams

Please release
the threads
thin, but binding

Endymion sleeps
She sinks,

I cannot recall ever hearing Sisters of the Moon before. It sure made a nice addition to your presentation here, with bother your poem and the song being so dark and foreboding.

really a great closing line...the penny in the wishing well...and our mistakes, we def can drown in those choices...

I just watched Gypsy 83 this morning and was wishing I could go to A Night of 1,000 Stevies - and then I see this. We are sometimes so connected it's spooky. I always know you're looking up at the same Moons.

She sinks,
a penny in a wishing well.

So sad, but beautifully poetic...
