They've been together for years
They're remodeling their home
They call their dog a spoiled child
Their pain is neither Democratic nor Republican
Their fear is neither liberal nor conservative
Their tears are neither gay nor straight
Illness doesn't know politics.

That last line came as a surprise ~ If its illness, its illness. Great take on this form ~
fark...tight emotional closure on this one...and life aint fair...
I am lovin' this poem! MMMhmm.
Yes, but I'm concerned about Mitt Romney. That smile he has....I think he should see a doctor. He always kind of looks like he has gas or something
FB: That's cuz he's full of hot air! Hopefully, his bubble will be popped in Nov.
Wow! This makes a powerful statement of a relationship that lasts into old age.
Life is always more complex than the gasbags want to make it, and so are people's ways of dealing. You paint quite a vivid picture of these people in very few words, and also ace the form.
For a second there I thought you were talking about me and the wife.
Sounds like us, anyway. (grin)
As a bonafide senior, I relate!
Nice sevenling ... love the popping bubble analogy in your comment!
YES! This is wonderful writing. Just so good.
Some preoccupations are more immediate than the occupations of others, Give it all, give it all and walk tall!
