Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. Leonard Cohen

Beneath the Violets

source
Although he should have know he would get caught
His boundless arrogance encouraged him
He couldn't understand how he got got
Male vanity so often makes wits dim

Desirous of both the sun and shade
Well, you know how that greedy story goes
His rendezvous deep in a forest glade
He thought it secret but we know talk flows

They both confronted him with all his lies
Dried tears upon their faces cold as stone
Where trust no longer flourishes, love dies
For all his sins, he never could atone

He's buried in their yard beneath the lawn
The violets now grow brighter since he's gone.

Pay the Price

source
In revenge and in love woman is more barbarous than man. -Friedrich Nietzsche

When I saw that number on your phone bill
You best bet that I dialed it to see
When I heard her voice pick up and answer
I knew that you had not been true to me

Don't believe I sat around and pouted
Don't believe I cried for very long
Revenge was on my mind, boy, don't you doubt it
'Cause I don't take too well to bein' wronged

You'll pay the price
'Cause you can't leave me
You'll pay the price
'Cause I'm all you know
You'll pay the price
When you deceive me
You'll pay it twice
'Cause you can't let go

You begged me not to pack my bags and leave you
You told me that I just misunderstood
You said you were just friends and made excuses
I shook my head and thought, "Oh, this is good."

You fell upon your knees and said you loved me
You pleaded with me for another chance
I watched you as you stammered and dissembled
Tried winning with your charm and your romance

But you'll pay the price
'Cause you can't leave me
You'll pay the price
'Cause I'm all you know
You'll pay the price
When you deceive me
You'll pay it twice
'Cause you can't let go

This all was a mistake, you tried to tell me
You hoped that we could put it in the past
You swore it was the last time that you'd call her
This may be a mistake, but it's your last

You'll pay the price
'Cause you can't leave me
You'll pay the price
'Cause I'm all you know
You'll pay the price
You best believe me
You'll pay it twice
'Cause you can't let go.

Grinning Like a...

Alice in Wonderland by YukiValentine

Come back here, you frightful cat
You won't escape again
I'll soon catch you, you tricky rat
and you'll be sorry then!

You say you want to help me
but then get me in to trouble
and instead of being remorseful
you go off and make it double!

I've never seen a cat like you
who grins so big and wide
and no one will believe you're true
because you like to hide.

A cat without a smile
is nothing very strange
but a smile without a cat
is really quite deranged!

So before you disappear this time
I've got your stripey tail
I want you to confess your crime
before you fade to pale.

And if you do not like that
I'll apply a little pressure
Then while you're screeching like a cat
I'll grin just like a Cheshire!
