There Is Beauty In Small Things

There is beauty in small things
if we would stop to see
Pause upon a snowflake
with its fragile symmetry

Cherishing the commonplace
bestows it with sublime
There is beauty in small things
if we would take the time.

oh the small ones are definitely more beautiful than the huge ones... there delicate and soft... if only we'd give them time like you so righteously said!!

A reminder in rhyme, I enjoyed your poem.

Such a good reminder here, Lola. Yes, we must "take the time."

Oh darling, who has time anymore? I hire staff to take care of things like this. In fact, this isn't me writing this comment. It's one of the kitchen staff, on her break!

So true, LM--and the rhyme here suits the chime of the message perfectly.

:) These small - small things lay the foundation of bigger things.

This reads like the best of William Blake's poetry. He, too, saw the beauty in a grain of sand.

Flawless rhyme! I love the classic feel of this.

Fragile and small - yet mesmerizing. Yes, there is JOY in such things. Nicely done.
