Ribbons of Red

Ribbons of red to celebrate
the holidays, good times ahead
We wish, count down the days, and wait
Ribbons of red

I'm thinking of you, instead
How your numbers are of late
Hope you're well on the new meds

Whether chance or whether fate
connected us with life's fine thread
To you, my prayers I dedicate
Ribbons of red.

A simple-seeming roundel with quite am old school feel, for a modern topic. I like the universal quality of "We wish, count down the days, and wait..." it applies here, as it could apply to so much.

Keep shining a light, Ms. Mouse.

Well done on this form it flows formlessly and the mention of the thread with the vision of this red ribbon bracketing it is powerful.

Wow! What a heartfelt message, LM. Your use of form is so subtle that one never feels it detracts from what you are saying, yet lends a formality to the words and makes it both personal and universal at the same time.
