Little King

image Sowa, Little King
It's good to be King
but it's been three days and
I'm almost out of clean underwear
I don't really mind
the instant coffee but
breakfast would be nice
and I'm sick of take-out
Why won't she answer my calls?
Why won't she come home?
My home is my castle but
my castle has dirty bathrooms and
I can't find the remote
It's too quiet at night and
the bed is too big
Where has she gone?
The King demands some answers!
(please?)

That's one lonely king. Nicely done.

My Mom would be proud of me. When I get alone time I get bored and actually clean up after myself. One time they left me alone and I counted all of our books. 1800+, if I remember correctly. I get bored easily.

I like your mix of old and new, and the remote especially -- seems there's a whole lot of remote going on...

I agree relationships are tough... This King is de-throned...

hehe...not much fun to play with your own sceptre after the queen gets tired of your decrees...

I like your take. There've been a number of ineffectual kings in this Magpie. Mine is here.

I loved this one, really did. Great voice. And a very funny first stanza. And the poor little king after his three days alone, imagine the loss! - all that time with no remote:)

in general, a king has many people helping.
your take is fun to read, a good tickle on the king.

I loved it! Excellent take on this image with its wry comment on the royal species threatened with extinction!
