Perspective

From the window in my door
I watch you leave
I imagine you
as a painting, wonder
how an artist would capture your movement
away from me
Objects in the distance should be smaller
This I know
But I've always been terrible with perspective
so I am not surprised
that you seem to grow larger
the farther you move from me.

I really liked this - the idea that our memories can inflate stature of someone / something. This was sadly beautiful. Mosk

Yes, Mouse ... past loves do loom larger than life in our memories. Not always a positive, I've learned.

Helen captured perfectly what I was thinking. Wonderful work. It's hard to let go of those loves not right for us, and they do take on a fairy-tale quality the further away they get.

pretty cool effect there in the end with them growing larger...we def color our past the further we get from it...

Does it fall under Einstein's Theory of Relativity? Nicely written, made me think.

Memories, they can take on a larger than life perspective. I so enjoyed your interpretation of the image.

Beautiful. And i can relate to the idea of wondering how to paint someone, something.

Clever write and how true it is that memories are sometimes larger than life.
