I will lock every door
in the world
so you will steal me away
The moon is too bright
I can not sleep
for the Man's staring
Let the owl pluck out his eyes

The nightingale

Lovely job combining the two prompts. I especially like the first stanza.
haha absolutely love that last stanza...it has a nice playfulness to it...
Ha! Love that ending!
This is way cool, LM--I love the photo you chose too, but mostly the locks and thieves turned sideways, and the fox in the henhouse and the sadly disappointed hens.
This made me smile with secret delight - doesn't every woman wish to be stolen away by a great passion, leaving the jealous sisters to mutter in appalled envy?
I love the picture you chose to accompany the piece.
I love how clever you are
Tying in so many prompts
They elusive, forbidden romance
So well done
I'm more of a raccoon than a fox. I look cuddly and comical but turn your back for just a second and I'll be gone with all your goodies...
Will that do?
Two sisters....love it.
I so enjoyed this! Especially "the nightingale will tell no one but the stars"....and, of course, the nattering sisters. Loved it!
I have to agree with Laurie: the first stanza is a humdinger, but what follows does not let it down. I enjoyed this for its originality.
